Dr Cathy Cale

Group Medical Director

Dr Cathy Cale joined Spire Healthcare in October 2020, following a successful 30-year career in the NHS, which spanned clinical, research and leadership roles. 

Cathy trained in paediatric immunology and immunopathology. She is an experienced medical director, with roles at three NHS trusts, including Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust.  She has also worked as a clinical ambassador for Getting it Right First Time (GIRFT) and been deputy medical director for NHS Improvement London region.

At Spire Healthcare, she holds executive responsibility for clinical governance and medical professional standards, as well as laboratory medicine services. Over the last year, she has lead the introduction to PSIRF at Spire Healthcare. 

Cathy is a member of the Executive Committee and Safety, Quality and Risk Committee.
